In-Clinic Associates

We are pleased to be able to offer convenient access to the specialized services of the following care providers, within our Cross Roads Obstetrics and Gynaecology facility.

Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine (PCRM)
The Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine (PCRM) is a full-service fertility clinic with headquarters in Burnaby, BC. Some of their services are available in our Cross Roads Obstetrics and Gynaecology clinic in Vancouver.

They offer a full spectrum of fertility care including In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).

For obstetrical patients, they also offer First Trimester Screening (FTS), a non-invasive screen for the detection of Down Syndrome and other chromosomal disorders. The screen involves a specialized ultrasound to measure the nuchal translucency (NT) and some blood tests. It is done between 11 and 14 weeks of pregnancy, and has the advantage of providing results earlier in the pregnancy than the other available screening tests (quad screen, serum integrated prenatal screen (SIPS), and integrated prenatal screen (IPS)).

New in 2013, they are also now offering Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT), which involves detection of cell-free fetal DNA in the maternal serum.  This test is offered after 10 weeks of pregnancy.

Cross Roads Bladder Health, Female Incontinence and Prolapse
The Cross Roads Bladder Health, Female Incontinence and Prolapse clinic serves the increasing number of women requiring care for pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence.  The clinic also welcomes referrals for management of voiding dysfunction, recurrent urinary tract infections, obstetric perineal injury, and mesh-related pain.

The clinic brings together multidisciplinary expertise to optimize the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor disorders.  Physicians include Dr. Darren Lazare, a fellowship-trained Urogynaecologist, and Dr. Lynn Stothers, a Urologist with a special interest in female Urology.  Maureen McGrath, RN, is the Nurse Continence Advisor.

Diagnosis is the key to successful management.  Urodynamic studies, cystoscopy, and anorectal manometry are performed by our specially-trained nurse and physicians to achieve this.  As many patiens with these conditions have mobility challenges, the testing room has a power-assisted bed and the clinic in general has full wheelchair access.

Surgical care takes place at our affiliated hospitals.

The clinic has a dedicated physiotherapist with expertise in female incontinence and pelvic floor disorders.  It also provides pessary fittings and on-going follow-up care for those patients who opt for conservative management.

As of September 2015, Cross Roads Obstetrics and Gynaecology will no longer have a Women’s Health Primary Care clinic on-site.  Patients with existing appointments for July and August 2015 will be seen, but no new appointments are being scheduled.

Patients seeking routine care, such as Pap smears and contraceptive counseling, can attend the Cross Roads walk-in clinic next door without a referral.  Options for Sexual Health also provides these services.

Patients who require care from one of our Gynaecologists will require a referral from their primary care provider.

Unjali Malhotra, MD
Dr. Unjali Malhotra will be moving her Graceful Vitality practice to City Square Mall in September 2015.  This is a referral-based practice focusing on menopause, complex contraception and IUDs.

Existing patients of Dr. Malhotra who require continuing care from Dr. Malhotra can find her contact information at

Thank you for your patience during this period of transition.
