OB

We accept both low-risk and high-risk patients for complete prenatal and delivery care.  Deliveries take place at BC Women’s Hospital (Drs. Bélanger, Branco, van Schalkwyk, and Yue), St. Paul’s (Dr. Yam) and Burnaby General (Dr. Lalani’s).

Please note that patients must have a Vancouver address to be registered for delivery at BC Women’s.  Exceptions include patients who have previously delivered at BCWH, pre-existing Cross Roads OB/GYN patients, and patients whose pregnancies are high-risk and cannot deliver at their local hospital.

We also accept referrals from primary care physicians and midwives for obstetrical consultation for specific issues.  Shared prenatal visits with the primary care provider can be arranged in appropriate situations.

Please ensure to include all necessary documents with your referral. Failure to do so may result in delay in assigning an appointment.

Many of the options for prenatal genetic screening are TIME-SENSITIVE. If you are not familiar with all of the options and would like us to address prenatal screening with your patient, she must be referred EARLY.

Women age 35 or older who are not doing private-pay NIPT are eligible for a nuchal translucency (NT) ultrasound between 10w0d and 13w6d, as part of the integrated prenatal screen (IPS). Bookings for these ultrasounds are limited and must be secured with sufficient notice.

GYN

We accept referrals for all gynaecologic conditions.  Our general Gynaecologists can deal with the vast majority of referrals.  More complex cases can be directed to our in-clinic fertility associates from the Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine, menopause specialists, and Urology/Urogynaecology subspecialists, as appropriate.

By selecting ‘clinic to designate’, we can ensure that your patient will be seen by the most appropriate and soonest available provider for their condition.

We do appreciate receiving all imaging reports, bloodwork, cultures and Pap reports before seeing your patient.  If there are any previous consultation letters or operative reports from other Gynaecologists, these are very helpful as well.
